Bapchild has been lucky enough to get through to the second round of the Kent Village of the Year competition in the Community and Business categories.

On Tuesday I walked round the village with the judge for the Business category where I was able to demonstrate how Bapchild like many other villages has adapted to include a whole host of businesses other than the typical bricks and mortar ones that front the A2.

One of the things I enjoy most about the competition is learning more about the village in which I live and its always an eye opener to actually walk round the whole village with someone who is keen to learn more. Inevitably this raises a few questions, to which I don’t have all the answers, but then that’s part of the appeal.

Anyway however well or not we’ve done its already been another great experience and one that I’m sure I’ll be repeating again next year.
