A VILLAGE school is still waiting for a response after it complained to Ofsted about an inspection which branded it "inadequate".

Bapchild and Tonge primary was given the damning rating by inspectors who visited earlier this year.

Their report was critical of leadership and management and said pupils were not performing as well as they could be. It concluded "significant improvement" was required.

But head teacher Teresa Homan said staff and governors were baffled by the outcome and complained to Ofsted about the inspection process.

She described a meeting for parents held on Tuesday, May 1 as "productive" and said an action plan had been put in place to address Ofsted's concerns.
