Highsted Park Planning Applications
HIGHSTED PARK PLANNING APPLICATIONS ‘CALLED IN’ BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE
There are two planning applications for Highsted Park,
both of which have been updated: Highsted North, Planning Reference 21/503906/EIOUT Land West of Teynham, with 1,250 houses
Highsted South, Planning Reference 21/503913/EIOUT -
Highsted area & link to the motorway with up to 7,150 houses
Both planning applications have been ‘called in’ by the
Secretary of State. This means that
Swale Borough Council will no longer determine the planning applications. The proposals will now be considered at a
Planning Inquiry and will be determined by a Planning Inspector who will make a
recommendation to the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State will make the final call on the applications.

Inquiry duration: Currently scheduled for 12 sitting weeks commencing
11-14 March until 22-25 July 2025.

UPDATE FIVE PARISHES GROUP 6 FEBRUARY 2025
Bapchild Parish Council has joined with Rodmersham, Bredgar, Milstead and Tunstall Parish Councils to be represented at the Public Inquiry by the 5Parishes Group.
The 5Parishes Group has been granted Rule6 status to represent our views at the inquiry.

being raised by public donations to enable professional consultants to be
appointed to submit evidence. Below is the leaflet delivered to residents with details of how to donate.
