Scam Telephone Call
IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT SCAM TELEPHONE CALL
We have been made aware of a scam whereby a caller rings from a withheld number claiming to be from Swale Borough Council. He claims the householder is in arrears with their Council Tax due to the bands being adjusted. Please be aware if you question the caller he insists the matter is urgent and must be dealt with immediately. He is very persistent, offering to escalate the call to a higher authority. He will then ask for your bank and contact details (your home address and email address).
IMPORTANT - DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY DETAILS TO THIS CALLER, PARTICULARLY YOUR BANK DETAILS.
