Council unhappy with Mr Sharpe

22 Dec 2009
Swale Borough Council have sent a letter to Mr Paul Sharpe the Doubleday’s planning consultant expressing the Council's concern at the intention to undertake consultation on a draft development brief without prior consultation with the Council and ahead of other future consultations on the Northern Relief Road. The Council considers that confusion and concern will be caused by such an approach.

The Doubleday’s attempts to force through a pre-consultation consultation (yes another consultation will be required follow) without the Local Authorities input appears to be against planning policy.

Although Mr Sharpe has stated that the development and design of Stones Farm would not be impacted by the Northern Relief Road, it is quite clear that Swale Borough Council disagree.

It is understood that this consultation was intended to occur in mid January 2010.
